Long-Term Land Lease

This is an agreement between the land owner and the foreign investor to lease the land, usually for a 25 to 30 year term, with possible renewal of the lease for a further 2 terms of the same number of years. The land is not purchased but leased for the tenure and all buildings will return to the landowner with the land at the end of the tenure of the lease.
This structure does not provide for ownership nor sale thereof. Nor does a lease per se guarantee renewal of itself for subsequent terms.
