Legal
Status Legal Status Current Indonesian Law does not allow for foreigners to own land in their own name (direct freehold title). Legislation is under parliamentary review to amend this status but BRR or its legal advisors are not in a position to comment on the likelihood of changes to Indonesian Law. In fact land ownership in other Asian countries is also not clear-cut for the foreign investor – Thailand for example. Bali Regency Realty believes this caveat necessary: we are serious about our business, committed to our customers and their investments, and, transparent as an organization. Notwithstanding the
legislation above, thousands of foreigners have for decades ‘owned’
land in Bali and continue to do so. Principally, there are 2 ways to achieve
a secure investment in land and property. |
